EMILYs List backs seven Dems in effort to preserve Michigan Senate Majority and flip the House

A national organization committed to supporting Democratic Pro-Choice Women has offered its endorsement to six lawmakers seeking reelection in 2026 and one aiming to challenge a sitting Republican senator.

On Tuesday, EMILYs list announced endorsements for state Reps. Mai Xiong (D-Warren), Reggie Miller (D-Van Buren Township), Jennifer Conlin (D-Ann Arbor), Denise Mentzer (D-Mt. Clemens) and Betsy Coffia (D-Traverse City) in their campaigns for reelection to the Michigan House, which is currently held by Republicans with a 58-52 majority.

The organization also offered its support to state Sen. Sue Shink (D-Northfield Township) in her reelection campaign bid, and state Rep. Carol Glanville (D-Walker) in her effort to flip the state’s 30th Senate District. Democrats control the Senate with a 19-18 majority and one open seat.

The 30th Senate District is held by Sen. Mark Huizenga (R-Walker), while Glanville is expected to face civil rights advocate Rickie Kreuzer in the August primary election.
