(51,942 posts)thing I've seen from Democrats in recent memory. The problem isn't timber - there are plenty of trees being cut. The problem is a lack of sawmills to process the cut trees. Watch any northbound Interstate and you'll see truck after truck heading north to Canada to be turned into lumber and other products.

PS: Yes, I know "not all Democrats" are capitulating. But as a whole, in general, the response to this nightmare from the DNC et al has been beyond demoralizing and enraging. I won't say any more because I'll get in trouble.

(16,566 posts)group and hss been actively working against even Clintons NW Forest Plan and federal timber harvests generally for decades now. I wouldnt rely on this as an objective source. I worked/managed in federal land mgmt here in Oregon for much of my career and have deslt with this org. I would advise keeping an open mind until you/we know the full story.
