Its a friendly suggestion. I am not presuming or intending to tell people what to post.

However, I have noticed countless times where during a discussion, things are corrected up thread ( often because of an honest mistake from the poster) and yet you have dozens more postings with all hell breaking lose ignoring it.

A better suggestions is that the OP, if corrected and recognized as inaccurate, should return and edit the original post to reflect the new information. That way, DUers who are visiting the thread later on will not reply based on the unedited original thread.

I have gone back and edited my opening posts many times, to clarify or correct something in that post. Normally I do that by adding additional information at the end of the post with an ETA: header.

Human nature is to respond to the original post. That is what most people do. So, the OP should make changes to that post by editing it.
