DOGE Data Theft
While the Tariffs and the Deportation stories have been heading the news lately, DOGE continues to operate in cutting the Federal Government and stealing our data. And it *is* our data. The government in a democracy belongs to the people, not to some ketamine deranged asshole.
So the DOGE Data theft should be a major story. WIRED has a new article on the subject. There also has been a recent whistleblower-- a federal worker who is an IT specialist at the NLRB (National Labor Relations Board), an independent federal agency. The whistleblower states that DOGE came in in March and went into the agency's computer systems. Shortly thereafter, there was a massive movement of data out of the system. Sensitive data about corporations, labor unions, and other information that could be used in corporate espionage. And it could have gone anywhere.
Then there were attempts from a Russian source to log in to the systems using passwords and log in details that were created by DOGE. The log in attempts were denied because even though the Russian actors had passwords and legitimate log in information, the log in was automatically blocked because the NLRB systems do not permit computer entries that originate from countries outside of the US.
So this is a major story that is not being widely reported. There may be evidence of a major data theft and collusion between DOGE and Russia. Anyway, the first link below is to the WIRED article. The second link below is to my previous DU post on this Data Theft story. If this is happening at the NLRB it is probably happening at other federal agencies. This may be the real goal of DOGE-- not "government efficiency" but rather the biggest computer crime in history. Espionage and possible treason.
