Somehow it seemed appropriate to forgo the pain meds and take in the entire horror of what had happened, all too close by from my then home in Denver. And I saw the entire aftermath second by second as I was both horrified and physically "transfixed."

to all lost

for all those since for whom we learned no lessons nor acquired the courage to stop the scourge of gun violence.
