The parliamentarians have claimed the US president is not acting in ‘good faith’ towards Britain due to tariffs levied on all imports

MPs and peers have launched a campaign to block President Trump from addressing parliament, accusing him of being a “liar” who has disrespected Britain. The US president suggested the King, who will formally host the state visit, was looking at “setting a date for September”. Sir Keir Starmer invited Trump to Britain in February as part of a charm offensive designed to strengthen relations and secure a trade deal with the US.

But some parliamentarians are working to stop him giving a speech in Westminster, as Barack Obama did when he visited in 2011. They claimed he was not acting in “good faith” towards Britain due to tariffs levied by the US on all imports — particularly aluminium, steel and cars — with the threat of more to follow on pharmaceutical products.

A message sent to Lord McFall of Alcluith, the Lords Speaker, said it would be “inappropriate” for Trump to speak in the Palace of Westminster. Co-ordinated by Lord Foulkes of Cumnock, a minister in Tony Blair’s government and who later served on parliament’s intelligence and security committee, it responded to Trump’s suggestion that the state visit would be in September.

The message said: “If it is suggested that he be invited to address both houses of parliament I hope that you and Lindsay will suggest that would be inappropriate on this occasion because of his attitude towards and comments about the UK, parliamentary democracy, the Nato Alliance and Ukraine.” MPs are also privately seeking to lobby Sir Lindsay Hoyle, the Commons speaker.

6. Speaker Lindsay Hoyle is a spineless twat who would happily let Trump lie in parliament.

Lindsay Hoyle was Speaker during the trumpian Boris Johnson administration. He did NOTHING as the administration repeatedly disrespected the House of Commons, repeatedly violated House-rules and brazenly lied to their faces.

When an MP called a liar a liar, he punished her for besmirching that guy's honor even though she was correct by any standard.

AND Lindsay Hoyle sabotaged a parliamentary motion by the Greens and called off the vote in violation of House rules, because head of the Labour-party Keir Starmer had told him to do so, because voting both for OR against that motion would both have been embarassing for Labour.

Lindsay Hoyle is a scumbag, a cancer inside british democracy and I wouldn't spit on him if he were burning.
