Is anyone here having problems accessing funds at M & T bank?

It declined payment of a recurrent bill in my account and I got an email from the company not getting my payment to go through. I was frantic all day yesterday and am going there as soon as they open up to find out what the problem is!

1. No, I get my bills paid that way from M&T Bank and so far haven't had any problems. Knock on wood.

2. I went there in person this morning and was told my accounts were fine, nothing was "declined."

So I called my oil company and told them to go ahead and charge my bank card.

For a while there, I was a bit frantic...

7. Modern times, I did have to get a new debit card when somebody hacked it and tried to sign up to PayPal with it

But I have my direct pay bills taken right out of my account. Like I said so far so good. I’m glad you got yours straightened out

For everything else I use Bill Pay to push the payments out to billers. This avoids any non-payment or over draft fees being charged against my account, if something goes wrong with my account or I don't get paid.

It's a common strategy that is used to get you to give up personal identification information. I probably get 10 of those emails each week.

Best to contact the company that appears to be emailing you on your own. Ask them if there is an issue. Most often, there is not. Never respond to anything that comes in through email. Always go directly to the company involved and inquire.

Oldest trick in the book since phishing begam.

Check with the company directly - EVERY TIME!

6. No, this was a direct call from Petro. It has been our company for several years.

It is now OK. The whole process was laborious, but it is fine. The bill has been paid. We just got a delivery about a week ago and our heat works just fine.

10. No, it's me and my failing memory. But I both spoke to them and received an email from them.

11. The only thing that matters is that YOU initiate the contact with the company.

Never click links in emails, call phone numbers from emails, or use URLs from emails. Always initiate contact yourself, using known, legitimate access points.
