Chance encounter yesterday.

While having lunch yesterday on a Mediterranean Island we ended up talking to a man who works for the US government as a liaison for NATO.
Things have gotten really crazy for him. He is on a one year assignment, hopes it will last. He has to go to 3 capital cities in Europe this week for discussions. Not going to be fun.

Didn't press for information but how do you try to talk to other countries and tell them the official line when at home no one knows the line and much higher ups are undercut at any given time. Even while testifying to congress?

I hope he makes it through his year.

Solving imaginary problems like "an immigrant invasion" and "trade imbalance"

You KNOW where the imbalance lies.
