Pope Francis v. J.D. Vance

J.D. Vance's theology (such as it is):

“You love your family, then you love your neighbor, and then you love your community, and then you love your fellow citizens in your own country, and then after that you can focus and prioritize the rest of the world. A lot of the far left has completely inverted that.”

In a letter to U.S. bishops dated 10 February 2025 (https://www.vatican.va/content/francesco/en/letters/2025/documents/20250210-lettera-vescovi-usa.html), Pope Francis specifically responded to this:

“Christian love is not a concentric expansion of interests that little by little extend to other persons and groups. [It is a] love that builds a fraternity open to all, without exception.”

Who explain to me (the far left) how I love. JD has been a disgrace to the US in less then 100:days. Trying to impress the base. I’m saddened the Pope agreed to meet the pure evil.

It probably killed him . Or at least contributed.

I've seen this movie before. I remember John XXIII and his successors. I will always suspect John Paul I's death included some foul play.

He was taking names for his short time in. I recall hearing on the radio the Pope had died. I thought, wait the Pope died a couple a months ago.

I'm not big on conspiracy theories, but this was suspicious than and it's still suspicious now IMO.

...more insightful than he actually is but he just proves how smarmy and insufferable he is whenever he pontificates about anything.

And Vance didn't hasten his end. He was not going to survive long, and he knew it.

A talking to to Just Dumb Vance was one of the things that needed to be done before he left. So he did it.

. . . My OP wasn't about the final meeting between Vance and Pope Francis. It was about something Vance said, and the Pope responded to, several months ago.
