Another one...a "good Christian" caught as a rapist.

He doesn't do any Drag Story Hours, does he?

Son of Ohio Megachurch Pastors Arrested and Charged With Rape of Minor

Gary Thomas “Tom” Keesee, Jr.—the son of Ohio megachurch pastors, Gary and Drenda Keesee—was arrested today and charged with two counts of rape, according to a press release by the Licking County Sheriff’s office.

More charges will be considered by a grand jury on Monday, the release stated.

Until last summer Tom Keesee worked as the chief media officer at the church his parents founded, Faith Life Church in New Albany, Ohio. Tom is also the creator of Faith Life’s musical, “Fire and Ice,” which uses minors as performers, TRR previously reported.

Inmate records show a charge of non-forcible rape of a victim less than 13 years old. Keesee will be held in the Licking County Justice Center, the sheriff’s office stated.

According to an online petition, multiple girls have accused Tom Keesee of sexually abusing them, while “under his influence in the church.” This includes Keesee’s younger sister, Kirsten McKinney.

… snip …

“(The victims) felt like they were definitely up against a mountain and the fear of people that have influence and money, feeling like they wouldn’t be heard,” Berger said.

After thousands signed a petition, calling on Ohio law enforcement to investigate Keesee, the Licking County Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation into child sex abuse allegations against a “former leader” at Faith Life.

The charges could carry a sentence of life in prison, Ohio code states. Charges with possible life sentences must go to a grand jury in Ohio, attorney Vanessa Johnson told TRR. Johnson has been a prosecutor in Florida and Michigan and has been posting about Keesee’s case on YouTube.

Law enforcement’s response

Attorney General Yost replied to the petition, stating that the Knox County Sheriff’s office couldn’t investigate because as county commissioner, Drenda Keesee votes on the sheriff’s budget. The sheriff has requested Ohio’s Bureau of Investigation to investigate, Yost said.

But Yost called Gary and Drenda Keesee “friends,” who’ve eaten dinner in his home. Given the close relationship, Yost said he couldn’t investigate and instead asked Knox County to find another law enforcement agency to investigate.

“My relationship with them meant that we could not credibly perform the investigation, either, and we informed the Sheriff of that fact,” Yost wrote on the petition. “We suggested that another Sheriff’s office could be invited to do the necessary work, and offered to help identify one who would be willing to do so if necessary.”

Last year, Drenda ran unopposed on a pro-family, pro-business and pro-freedom platform, saying on FlashPoint that God told her to run for office. When President Donald Trump ran for president last year, she joined a group at a Georgia rally to pray over him.

Nicole Berger, a former church member and whistleblower...snip...

Berger told TRR she and other advocates for the victims have formed a nonprofit called Braveheart that will provide funds for Keesee’s victims.

“The goal is to raise funds for victims to come forward so they don’t have to fear any legal pushback,” Berger said.

Berger said she hopes the nonprofit will help other victims of abuse from other churches in the future. Snip...

8. Calling oneself Christian doesn't make one a "good Christian." Christian is as Christian does. But the worst

are those who, like the Pharisees, present themselves as "men of God" teachers who hurt any of their flock.
Plenty has been written about false teachers in the Bible. When they believe themselves more than scripture, they sin, and their pride leads others to sin and suffering, not love and peace. Jesus warned about them.

Matthew (the tax collector) 7:15 quotes Jesus's warning about them: Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. You shall know them by their fruits.

11. Obviously this is terrible, terrible stuff. However, it appears by my math that he was 12-17 years old at the time

He is currently 36 years old, so he'd have been born around 1989. From Yahoo's article:

"According to the indictment, Keesee committed the alleged acts of rape between May 2002 and November 2006. He resigned from his position at the church in August."

"In a criminal complaint, detectives allege Keesee sexually assaulted a girl when she was 5 and 6 years old, starting in May 2001 and ending in May 2003. Keesee was 12 when the alleged abuse began"

I'm not saying it's not still awful for the 3 young women (and perhaps others), or that he's not a scumbag, I just think people should be aware of that detail of the story. Starting at the age of 12 makes me a bit suspicious about whether things were being done to him, and if so, by whom? Of course, growing up both privileged, and in a 'religion' that says men are the rightful rulers, and females are for breeding, could well have been all it took to put this filth into his young mind.

as opposed to the "drag queen story tellers"...

Perhaps they fear the drag queens because they somehow think
that their exposure to thus, will make them more likely
to commit child rape, since they are already thinking about it---

although I STILL don't quite see the connection--
