For the first time this year, Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) held an in-person town hall in her district, the
Charleston Post & Courier reports.
The general public, however, was not invited.

the enemy of Republicans is the general public it seems.

The congresswoman representing South Carolina's 1st Congressional district on April 23 attended an event on Dataw Island, a private, gated community. Attendance was restricted to members of the Dataw Island Owners' Association. About 200 people welcomed Mace, while about two dozen protesters carrying signs and blowing horns camped out on Sea Island Parkway on St. Helena Island, several miles from the front gates of the upscale community.
Protestors objected to Mace being at a meeting that was billed as a town hall but which was closed to general public. It wasn't just protestors outside the gates who questioned the decision. Town hall attendee Wendy Stine told The Post and Courier that she thought Mace was hiding behind the protection of the gated community.
"We have had many privileges that many people in South Carolina have not had. Who represents them? It doesn't seem to be Nancy Mace," said Stine, who left the event early.
