Make Attorneys Get Attorneys. Well, Letitia James got Abbe Lowell, who you might remember defending Hunter Biden. He also did work for Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner.
New information put together by Lowell is in a 33 page document you can read online at The New York Times. Lowell's cover letter rips apart the claim that Letitia James had declared the Norfolk, Virginia property as her prime residence. James was simply helping her niece, Shamice Thompson-Hairston buy the property.
After Lowell's letter are emails telling the mortgage company that the house would NOT be her primary residence. The loan officer acknowledged the same, understanding that Shamice would be the sole occupant. Everything tied up neat in a bow. No real estate fraud. James saw the primary residence mistake and corrected it. Director Pulte, of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, and Chairman of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, is a shill for Trump just installed in the middle of March. Lowell points out his egregious mistakes.
In regards to the 4/5 occupancy New York brownstone in Brooklyn, Lowell notes that it has been listed as a 4 unit property since she bought it. Pulte cherry-picked a 24 year old certificate of occupancy, where all the other documents from purchase on list it as a 4 unit.

(52,882 posts)There is no way she would have thought she could or would get away with saying she was living in VA. She was literally the most famous state AG in the country and very large numbers of people handle mortgage applications, the notion that one of those people wouldn't have recognized her is absurd. Similarly there is no way that she could have gotten away with saying a building had 4 units when it had 5. An inspection is part of any mortgage (even newly built buildings) and the first part of that would be saying how many units it had. That leaves the third one, of all of them, that is the only one that was plausible. But even that, given her status as public figure (and this one was in NY) seems pretty hard to assume she would get away with it.
