Actblue's Regina Wallace Jones was on Rachel Maddow last night.
She said that ActBlue is supported by the tips left by generous donors.
I thought you all might like to know that.

(57,806 posts)I donate directly, by check, to candidates and causes I wish to donate to. If I donate through Act Blue, the candidate receives, with luck, 92% to 92.5% of my donation. The rest goes to Act Blue (3.95%) and the credit card companies. If there is some big ticket, high stakes race, and the Democratic candidate raises $10 million, $800,000 raised through Act Blue never gets to the candidate. In a tight race, that could determine the victor. I'm sure Act Blue and Visa do just fine without my irritating contributions adding to their accounting burden.

So using PayPal is a level of security for me. It's at a cost, but it's worth it.

They kept checking the make it monthly box without my consent. When I pointed this out, and said it wasnt fair, they replied that I was an idiot for not fixing it every time myself. I decided they would have one less idiot to contend with, and havent touched them since. I read that they boasted a billion (or was it ten billion?) in turnover. If its one billion, they made $39.5 million. It its ten billion, they made $395 million. I hope they had a little of that left over for Planned Parenthood, etc.
