The US might experience a constitutional crisis called "Godel's Loophole"

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/G%C3%B6del%27s_Loophole

Kurt Gödel was a brillant though excentric german mathematician. Shortly before WWII he fled Nazi-Germany for the US, where he became friends with Albert Einstein.

When emigrating to the US, he was forced to take an oath on the US Constitution. He gave it a thorough read.
Later he remarked that he had found a loophole in the structure of the US Constitution, how to legally turn it from a democracy into a dictatorship without breaking any laws. He never elaborated on the details.

the American Constitution and its Amendments. He claimed that it was so perfect that it couldn't be unraveled by any federal administration.

I privately mused that like any system, it could be "gamed", IOW, you could design a program where incrementally, you could weaken, then dismantle The Constitution, and thereby convert a democracy into an autocracy.

Unfortunately, I wasn't alone in these thoughts and it's being implemented right now.

But personally I think it has more to do with what we're seeing today, the difficulty of enforcing laws written on paper and divided power. And heck we couldn't even sort that out until Marbury v. Madison gave SCOTUS judicial review which is being melted by Trump's GOP today.

Tremendous.

And the DU program won’t allow the umlaut o in the title line. 😵‍💫
