Citizen's United question

Would this being reversed (I know, it would require a miracle) even help at this point? With Thiel planning "Freedom Cities/Corporate Colonies," are we beyond the point of no return?

I wonder if the obvious end result of unleashing money into politics is disturbing enough that SCOTUS could reverse this?

Sorry, I'm admittedly not knowledgeable enough about the legal intricacies involved. Just wondering.

1. I still can't get over the fact that unlimited money equals literally because of this law, unlimited power.

3. The idea that foreign entities can buy our elections is insane.

The fact that musk can even try to upend a Wisconsin election is similarly insane.

There's way, way too much money in politics. Congresspeople spend roughly 2/3rds of their time in office raising funds for the next election. That's utterly nuts.

2. I certainly don't see this Supreme Court reversing it

I think we'd need to replace at least 2 of the more conservative justices, which means we need a democrat president, a democratic senate, and 2 of those justices to leave office one way or another (most likely by dying) during that time... assuming we don't lose yet another seat on the bench before that.

Alternatively, if we manage to win the house as well, we could increase the number of seats on the court and get a majority that way.

Both scenarios seem unlikely anytime soon.

I think this Supreme Court may gently try to assert some independence and authority, pushing back on Donnie on his lawlessness, mostly. But I don't see them going back on something like election funding issues.
