Package was supposed to arrive in Portland, ME, from Boston by Wed, Jun 4. Tracking show the last update as June 6 (yesterday), "in transit to next facility, arriving late."

GRRRR!!!!

I don't know who to be mad at.

1. I know. I had a certified letter sit in Brooklyn, NY for 4 days. It was to be

delivered to a town 14.7 miles away! Took a total of 8 days to travel from Illinois to Bellerose, NY.

2. Is anyone yelling about this? A couple of years ago...

...there was a big flap about what what's-his-name (postmaster general) was doing to the post office. But that seems to have died down.

3. It's not just Priority Mail.

I sent a birthday card via regular mail to Atlanta from New York City. Even mailed it from inside the Post Office. Took 9 days and missed the birthday.

4. The package arrived today. 5 days after latest "promised" but not "guaranteed" date.

Is there a movement afoot to ask the post office to drop the whole notion of "priority mail" if they can't guarantee it?

6. Express is guaranteed.

Priority has always been 2-3 day estimated.

5. You have to try being Zen when you mail priority

Just assume it will rarely arrive on the date it says. I can mail a package across the US priority and the package takes 2 days and then mail a package one state away priority and it takes six days. That’s the nature of the USPO. All you can do is go with the flow.

7. Probably you should blame the shipper

Whenever I have a late package it's because they made the shipping label and then didn't put it in the friggin mail.
