Here's what I believe what this Cal/Nat Guard deployment is all about

It is a test run. Trump is looking for an excuse to declare martial law BEFORE the mid terms. He will do anything he can to provoke the people into some kind of confrontation. Then declare ML, activate the US military for deployment on US soil to arrest any citizens he feels is a threat to his rule. Once the troops are deployed he will suspend the mid term elections indefinitely. The spineless republicans in Congress will do nothing. The Democratic leaders in Congress will be arrested as enemies of the state.

However, controlling 330 million people that is armed to the teeth might prove to be a difficult tiger to subdue.

the rest of the states will fall and midterms will be no problem.
None of this, all that Trump has been doing, has just happened but has been planned for years. If only we had been more vigilant and prepared rather than now reacting to his actions, but we saw Trump as an idiot and moron and not a real danger to our democracy. He may well be that but he is a useful tool for those who are really pulling the strings on ending our democracy. Let's hope that what has happened here will be a useful lesson for the other free nations of the world.

Trump is using them. If Lenard Leo thinks that he will control Trump once he secures what he wants, they are in just as much danger as the wokes LOL. I'm sure he will jail them and the whole staff of the Federalist Society as soon as they have worn out their usefulness.

Not that Trump cares about the Constitution, of course.

We’ll see if the military obeys Trump’s unlawful orders.

The states have the authority to conduct elections, not the Federal government.

Gives the president the authority. I would guess one man's riot, could be considered another man's insurrection. It is all a matter of viewpoint.

military parade.

Two things that he despises waay more than people being harmed are: a) disruption of any event that is honoring him (rallies, parades, inaugurations) and b) destruction of property -- he's obsessed with "buildings."

... aligns closely with mine. The Sinister Six on the SCOTUS are all in on the side of the treasonous fascists, so they're not to be trusted now, if they ever were.
If Trump was actually human, he would endeavor to avoid harming civilians exercising their Constitutional right to peaceful assembly, but one of the main reasons for this escalation is to satisfy his innate bloodlust. That is, as long as he can watch it onTV; by his own admission, he hates the sight of blood in real life. Another factor is his insatiable craving for absolute dominion over the lives of others. He loves to humiliate people, even those who willingly submit to his malicious control.
This is not going to end well. That he is, for all intents and purposes, historically illiterate, means that he has not benefitted from the lessons that Mussolini had to learn the hard way: Tyrants ALWAYS end up losers, SUCKAH!

We certainly can't count on SCOTUS to do the right thing, but I'm not convinced all 6 conservatives are all in with him 100% these days. Thomas and Alito? Absolutely. But there have been some surprising 7/2 verdicts, in cases where he's done such wildly unconscionable things that only the Treacherous Two (or should I say the Gruesome Twosome) were willing to rule in his favor.

I'm NOT holding my breath, but I'm not giving up hope yet, either.

Trump and his bald psycho-buddy, Miller, have already demonstrated just how evil they can be, and they haven't even hit 3rd gear yet.
Watch your six; these fuckers mean business. They know that if they lose, it's all over for them, so they won't hesitate to burn it all to the ground so they can die on a hill of ashes, rather than leave us anything to rebuild. And don't kid yourself; they ARE that evil.

I figured it was only a matter of time before he found an excuse to call up the National Guard and then use violence as a reason to declare martial law. If protests are basically peaceful, he will hire instigators to provoke violence. It is in his playbook, the same one all dictators use to gain power.

And that silly Bill. But I think it would be wrong of us to to view his decisions as part of anything resembling a formal plan. His pattern is to make things up as he goes along, and sometimes that works and others, it simply makes a mess. But I believe that he feels if he can just get the public thinking and focusing on what’s happening in LA rather than in DC, it’s to his benefit, personally and politically.
