Many predicted this would be a bad idea. Too powerful and no restraints. Just do whatever to “protect” the Homeland, legal or not; moral or not.

Russia 'the Motherland', of course Germany 'the Fatherland'

In a country with a national security apparatus, why did they need a separate agency, an unbridled growth state entity for small-minded politicians? Have they solved any terrorist cases? Ones that NSA/CIA/FBI/DOJ couldn't handle?

Trump has his stooges and yes men (and women) installed in all of the agencies and departments. Republicans approved them.

but even with everything that has happened there will be people that claim no difference in 2028 between the Democratic and Republican candidates.

They will pick out certain votes or things and ignore the larger picture.

I was calling it the "KGWB"---mashup of "KGB" (which it resembled) and "GWB" (who created it). And Tom Ridge just looked like a Soviet Commisar--without the battle ribbons.

Maybe now it should be called the "KG-T-B" in a nod to the Crime Minister, who usually likes it when his name is on something.
