i can read it though without clicking through. not sure why you can't.

Here's the text of the press release:

Today, demonstrations across the City of Los Angeles remained peaceful, and we commend all those who exercised their First Amendment rights responsibly. The Los Angeles Police Department appreciates the cooperation of organizers, participants, and community partners who helped ensure public safety throughout the day.

While today’s events concluded without incident, the Los Angeles Police Department remains fully prepared to respond swiftly and appropriately to any potential acts of civil unrest. Our commitment to safeguarding the rights, safety, and well-being of all Angelenos continues – day and night.

We will maintain a heightened readiness posture and remain ready to ensure the continued safety of our communities.

Based on what I've seen, they want their autonomy (or the chief does) but that's because they want to be able to abuse the protesters themselves, not share in the fun.

Feeling nothing but grief for our nation today.

If you’re not on the front lines, don’t criticize those who are. If you are out front, thank you for your courage.
If you don’t support the action, organize one yourself; try to maintain order and decorum in the face of violence. It’s difficult.
If you don’t want to organize, participate, or lead; respect those who are doing.
Find your own level and style of resistance and try and add to rather than bash other’s actions.

Do you support the protests, or not? Are you waiting for corporate media to provide "a good look?" Was January 6th a "good look" for MAGA? It didn't slow them down. Why is that? Because they are committed to the battle. They don't care to persuade us, they want to suppress us, and kill us if need be.

People's complaints here should be directed at the media and at the administration, not the demonstrators. Too many here are folding like the proverbial cheap suit.

MAGA is waging war against us. The time for persuading them is far in the past. The hope that the corporate media will work in our favor should have long ago been dismissed. People need to wake up.

and Molotov cocktails. Tagging a T-Mobile store does nothing for the cause. Once the peaceful protesters disperse, unfortunately there are still the Black Bloc and agitators. Don’t know how to stop them, but I hope they are arrested.

Last week (?) jackasses went to downtown LA, vandalized an MTA bus inside and out WITH THE DRIVER IN IT, and did other damage. They were dressed up in party clothes; there was even a fireeater! And plenty of filming going on.

Everyone of us has heard, during some crime or violent act, police and sheriff's get on TV and radio and ask for the help (eyes and ears) of everyday people in helping to catch the bad guys. They admit they can't do it all by themselves (and they are right) and seek the help from everyone - and not just from citizens. Commonly heard: "See something; say something." "Call us!!" Parts of large police departments across the country even have "Community Policing" sections.

And all it takes to overturn the good will between the police and citizens - the cruel policies of the Trump administration, encouraged by the pathologically-vindictive and cruel Stephen Miller, and authoritarian thug Tom Homan. In all of a single day - it can go to shit!

And now it has. Trump has given police departments a shit sandwich they now have to eat.

LAPD wants out, and the best way - blame those really responsible - Trump and his shitty administration of vulgarians.

National Guard essentially have dual chains of command. Under Title 32, its the Governor of the State. Under Title 10, its the President. They got called up under Title 10. As soon as that happens, their chain of command runs up to the President like every other soldier in the Federal Military. Governors cannot stop Title 10 call ups.
