🗣️ 🪧
From this moment forward, at every protest, we must do the following:
ℹ️ The moment violence or property damage begins, EVERY OTHER PROTESTER must immediately sit on the floor or the ground in silence, with signs down.
📷 The media (or a someone) needs to film this. This will reveal paid fake thugs posing as protesters becoming violent.
❤️The sitting down must spread like a "wave" in a football stadium throughout the crowd of protesters.
‼️Local police officers will immediately see WHO is doing the damage, and the rest of us will demonstrate our non-violent innocence and retain our ➡️Constitutional right ⬅️ to peaceful protest.
💯Retweet, repost, and shout it from the rooftops at every protest you attend!

(25,049 posts)Sitting down when shit goes sideways and relying on the cops to "do the right thing" is a fool's game. What happens if the cops start the violence?

(11,275 posts)But I believe this is excellent advice when participants (or infiltrators) attempt to instigate violence.
NO KINGS de-escalation training calls were held June 4 and earlier today (which I also promoted in earlier posts).

(504 posts)LA Police may be involved, but this is Trumpian. Creating a shitstorm against LA police is misguided. Or at least you should reconsider whatever your real overall goal is.
WhiskeyGrinder
(25,049 posts)The only people creating shitstorms are ICE by invading communities, and the authorities that protect and assist them.

(11,275 posts)Violent protest is NOT EFFECTIVE. It empowers the 47 regime by feeding their propaganda machine.
What I posted is a simple act to promote. For more detailed safety and deescalation, see the resources compiled by Hands Off organizers here.

And trump will likely gain a bit of support, as long as he doesnt kill/hurt too many, making situation even worse.

(789 posts)I understand your frustration. I just posted a long rant.
However, every rock thrown gives TACO justification for martial law. Most protesters are peaceful.
I think ICE incited people and some reacted.
Ill be on the sidewalk on June 14th.
Yes, I do believe martial law will be instituted and we will be under authoritarian control. But, sticks and stones will not stop the Marines. Any violence will be met will more violence and death.
I dont have an answer.

(11,275 posts)It takes courage. And it can mean putting oneself in danger of injury -- or worse. But there are resources for safety and deescalation that EVERY person participating in ANY type of non-violent protest needs to be aware of -- and needs to heed.
NO KINGS held trainings June 4 and earlier today.

(2,275 posts)Seriously. Nobody needs a fair-weather comrade who will comply in advance be narc on fellow protestors. This is a meme of cowards and moles.
pat_k
(11,275 posts)It is self-defeating and empowers the 47 regime by feeding their propaganda machine.
If a "fellow protestor" decides to break windows or damage a car, they are no "fellow" of mine.
And sitting down is NOT "narcing." What fucking nonsense!! It is simply refusing to participate in violent acts. The person committing those acts is more likely a pro-47 instigator than any "fellow" of mine.
And here is some more advice I highly recommend:

(4,235 posts)would IMO still send the message that not all are thugs. We all will need to watch our shit, keep heads on a swivel and protest loudly. If danger becomes realized during marches and not just march containable one ofs. Distance is our friend.
