Not being sarcastic or flippant. Seriously. Newark gave folks the blueprint.

MAGAs will jump for joy.

Courts will back Trump.

Congress will continue to collect their big paychecks and perks and be happy as clams.

The arrest would dominate global news. It would galvanize centrists against Trump in swing states, especially suburban voters who value constitutional norms. Newsom would immediately challenge the move in court, and likely win, especially if the action bypassed state sovereignty and legal norms. Federal judges even Trump-appointed ones would likely slam the brakes because of Constitutional overreach.

They may still do it, but I think it will backfire.

By issuing the challenge, Newsom is forcing their hand to act. I think it’s probably better we force Traitor and his minions to (try to) go full authoritarian now rather than later after he’s had another year to purge anyone with a conscience from the military, DOJ, and judiciary.

He hasn’t done the necessary work to coalesce an authoritarian regime so far. He’s rushing this before he’s solidified his power. So let’s test this while we have some semblance of a democracy remaining.

Traitor is coming for our democracy anyway, I’ve come to firmly believe it’s time to make him tip his hand openly.

And asap. While the judiciary is holding.

If he goes for Newsom, I think that will even be a bridge too far for (some) R governors. I’ll welcome them to the resistance

We need a troll under the bridge. An Oedipus to counter the Spinx.
California, being respectful to the wishes of the current administration, may decide place restrictions on truck and rail traffic out of the state. California cannot afford the risks associated with unfettered travel across its borders and must do all in its power to ensure that no human trafficking goes unnoticed. How an action like this affects trade is a minor consideration.

Primaries and the Democratic party has a new leader.

Arresting the opposition only works if you then kill them. And it generally boosts their popularity among everyone that hates you. Which in Trumps case is most of the world and the majority of the US. So, not good.
