These assholes are who are destroying property and blocking streets. June 14th and similar protests are not going to work if this shit keeps up. This is going to be our only chance against these fuckers and I don't want to see whoever they are to ruin it. Does anyone know who they are ? The news is all over this and we who want this to succeed are being dragged into the coverage. This has to stop and I guess if we want to be effective and taken seriously we have to stop it. Not good at all.

(47,241 posts)What exactly do people think June 14th protests are going to accomplish? I am not against June 14th protests by any means, but exactly is the accomplishment is supposed to be?

(28,385 posts)They are being organized by numerous groups, they will draw protests in the multi-millions of people.
The No King protests are better than watching dear leader's parade on TV.
They will eventually get publicity, of course the shiny object on June 14th will get the coverage .

(28,385 posts)Maybe I should post the video of a TV reporter who is covering the LA protests getting shot in the leg by a rubber bullet.
The vast majority of the protests in La are peaceful.

People participate in rallies for all sorts of reasons. And people make assumptions about others participating. Im digging into that, because Im curious.

(9,036 posts)That's all I'm going to say. They didn't stage all of this only to send everyone home.
Make it happen on purpose (for those unfamiliar with the term)

(28,385 posts)like the video of the TV reporter getting shot in the leg by a rubber bullet. Is that some of the violence you speak of?

(9,036 posts)But I do think some of this is being staged. Just as I am still skeptical of the Butler/ear incident. They're all showmanship for their stupid followers, all the time.

(2,310 posts)Then away they go, stripping off activist outfits to become protesters. Then after working their way to the sidelines, they strip again, all the way down to their beloved brown shirts.

(49,918 posts)Im watching the Los Angeles reaction to ICE raids with trepidation and regret. Three years ago I taught a class at Harvard on the theater of protest designed to help people understand why so many protests turn out to be Republican campaign videos working directly against the interests of the original protest.
A protest is an invitation to a better world. Its a ceremony. No one accepts a ceremonial invitation when theyre being screamed at. More important you have to know who the real audience Of the protestis. The audience is NEVER the police, the politicians, the Board of supervisors, The Congress, etc. The audience is always the American people, who are trying to decide who they can trust; who will not embarrass them. If you win them, you win power at the box office And power to make positive change.Everything else is a waste. There are a few ways to get there.
