Can the Air Force One ramp be replaced with a lift? Asking for a fiend. (Original Post) usonian Jun 2025 OP
Wouldn't a bucket truck be better? He wouldn't have to walk at all. Ocelot II Jun 2025 #1
LOL. Let a couple of Guardsmen assist him up the steps if ramps/lifts aren't available. Silent Type Jun 2025 #2

Each airport, accounting for wind and weather, how much McDonald's Bloaty McBloatface had devoured in the last half day, might mean it takes a couple launches. They'd get it eventually. I'm sure of it.

in their eyes, and say 'sir, you're the most magnificent flying jumbo, each time, and I wish I could fly as quickly and majestically as you do', and I say I know air better than anyone, and you have to know air, some say you have to have air, but I know air and sometimes, most times I have it."

Hopefully, baggage handlers would lose him and he'd sit unclaimed in a hangar for several years.

He doesn't. Full stop.

But stop suggesting people (Trump or anyone else) with physical disabilities are stupid.

I fell yesterday - flat on my face with multiple bruises to prove it. Not unusual - the only thing that is unusual is that I have bruises from it. I fall so often that I have learned to completely relax when I fall so that I don't injure myself - yesterday I was holding something I couldn't spill so relaxing wasn't an option. It has been years since I have been able to answer "no" to the medical visit question, "Have you fallen in the last X months?" - no matter how small X is. I have three degrees, and was top in my class in two of those. I am currently working on a 4th, and about 1/3 of the way in with a 4.0 average. Obviously "having a clue" isn't an issue for me.

FDR, responsible for many of the social net programs we are fighting so hard to save, used a wheelchair.

Ridicule Trump for his ego, his narcissism, his cruelty, his politics, etc. But please stop suggesting physical mobility makes someone better or more capable than those who are less mobile.

But look at what he said about Joe Biden, altered in the OP to show that he's reaping the vile poison he sowed.

Donald Trump: “Joe Biden can’t even walk up a flight of stairs on Air Force One…We have somebody that doesn't have a clue representing us”

Repeating them with his name doesn't make the statements any less cruel, bigoted, inappropriate, etc.

And, most important, still tells those of us with physical mobility limitations just what you think of our worth because of those limitations.

If, in fact, this brouhaha results in more than one airline than IndiGo, let's say, ALL OF THEM, adopting motorized ramps, making hideously inaccessible on-ramps accessible, then I have helped score a giant victory.

How about using a 40-ton crane and a safety harness, and just kinda swinging him through the plane door?
