Just symptomatic of the chaotic shit show completely lacking in respect for everything and everyone....especially our military.

That the California NG would be so ill prepared or incompetent that they can’t coordinate food and water in a major city. My units had a deployable kitchen that could be loaded onto a trailer or into a C-130 or C-17 plane. We would always take at least a case of MREs and a case of water per person to get through the first couple of days until things could get there and get set up. We’d set up a MRE buffet line where everyone could put the stuff they didn’t like or want and others could snack off of lol.

Sometimes if we were in a populated area we would be given travelers checks/per diem and eat wherever we wanted or go grocery shopping and cook ourselves.

Every unit has Load Out plans for different evolutions. Could be natural disaster response, crowd/riot control, war, whatever. They have full time soldiers and civilians that maintain their supplies and equipment in garrison. Just can’t picture a commanding officer saying leave all the supplies and equipment at home, we’ll just wing it lol.

To hell with rules and procedures.

CA National Guard are their because it's become dangerous. This reminds me of Jan 6.

Why do they have Mexico flags and not American flags? Normal people would question that.

violence isn't the answer and to support that is messed up and not democratic.

The media and Trump sensationalize everything. Local PD could handle this level of protest.

their tv screen does not tell the story. No news there. The violence is overwhelmingly on the side of ICE...no news there either. Lots of video's and first hand accounts on video to be seen elsewhere, but that's a choice. Flags? I don't know. My relatives had Irish flags all over the place. Would that have been okay with you? We had ICE come in my neck of the woods in the past few weeks. Several humvees to abduct a middle-aged woman. The neighbors saw the infiltration of ICE and came out to help her. This was not California, it was MA. No flags. Diverse neighborhood. ICE made a big show, guns blazing, not answering any questions, masked pushing and shoving. Don't know how you would have felt if that was your neighborhood. Probably wouldn't care? Some people care about what happens to people they know. A thousand people getting abducted from the streets of L.A. in one day? Can't imagine. But hey...those flags?

Sometimes you arrive before the Admin folks can set up lodging or there is no lodging. We had connex boxes that could be loaded on semi trailers with our tents, water, MREs and other equipment and supplies but sometimes we got there days ahead of that stuff arriving and getting set up.

You rest anywhere you can when given the opportunity. I’ve had to sleep on the floor in a daycare center for a few days after a hurricane. Have also stayed in large tents in muddy fields or the desert on hard cots and a sleeping bag, slept in vehicles, slept in vacant office buildings slept in the rain, on picnic tables, etc, etc.

ever sleep underneath a plane you were working on with just the hard concrete as your bed, no sleeping bag to be had? My husband did back in the early seventies while serving in the Air Force in Thailand.

First night of deployment is always rough until the logistics people catch up to you.

I have slept on a few floors in my day.

However, we usually managed to find a carpeted room at least.
