Decided it's time to take the red hat symbol for ourselves

Just ordered a red baseball hat and IMPEACH TRUMP sow on/iron on patch.

I also ordered a NO KINGS red hat but estimated delivery is 6/13-6/17, so may not come before 6/14.

I would love to see others in red hats at the protest. At a minimum, photos of protest crowds dotted with lots of red hats could either cause MAGA's to wonder if MAGA is turning against 47 -- or just confuse the hell out of them.

2. I'm seeing a lot of yellow hats worn by protesters on the streets.

I found this: "Symbolic of Resistance: While not as well-established as the yellow vests movement in France, the yellow hats could be adopted as a visible symbol of opposition to the government's immigration policies and the presence of troops. Similar to the 'yellow vests' in France, the color yellow, particularly in the form of a hat, could be used as a way to unite and identify protesters."

Don't know that I would wear yellow with a bunch of trigger happy cops shooting rubber bullets at protesters, it would only help the police pick out their targets.

4. Why would we want it?

Why would we want to “take back” the red hat? Would we also want to “take back” the confederate flag? The swastika?

Let morons brand themselves. It’s a handy way to identify traitors.

7. Perhaps poor wording, but MAGA doesn't own red.

Perhaps "undermine the meaning" would have been a better way to phrase.

If people standing up and working to stop the 47 regime -- and working to elect Pro-Impeachment candidates in 2026, whether Pro-Impeachment Republicans challengers or Pro-Impeachment Democratic candidates -- wear the red with our messages, their signalling loses power.

And frankly, I think it would piss some off and provoke whiney reactions, which are all good in my book.

I just realized I never said "take back." I just said take for ourselves.

I stand by my framing
