Lina Khan @linamkhan : A huge loss. Alvaro has been a model @FTC commissioner and public servant

focused on how business practices and market structures affect people’s daily lives, serious about enforcing the law without fear or favor, outraged by coercion and injustice, and relentlessly dedicated to ensuring our government stands up to corporate abuse.

Alvaro was a key leader in reviving the Robinson Patman Act so that independent grocers can fairly compete and rural communities can access healthy, affordable food—and his trips across the country helped make sure
@FTC
was hearing from a broad range of America’s businesses, from farmers to pharmacists.

American workers, consumers, and honest businesses had a real champion in Alvaro, and his illegal firing is a disturbing tell about this administration’s focus on coddling corporate lawbreakers, monopolists, and fraudsters.

Grateful to Alvaro for his remarkable tenure as
@FTC commissioner and his outstanding public service

To abide by ethics rules, today I'm stepping down as an FTC commissioner. I'm deeply grateful for the chance to have served my country in this way. And I look forward to building our ability to fight fraudsters and monopolists - regardless of how wealthy they are.

Our loss.

We realize all too well this current Administration (if you can call it that) will appoint some grifter who won't come anywhere close to standing up against fraudsters and anti-consumer actions of American business the way an FTC commissioner should!
