Nikki McCann Ramirez writes a short piece in Rolling Stone Magazine ( not behind a paywall ) on the obvious hypocrisy of Trump's sudden concern for police officers being taunted and "spat on," his words, not mine, after he picked a fight with the state of California enraging some in the City of Angels to protest ICE agents terrorizing their communities.
Nikki McCann Ramirez noted some of the more despicable members of his cabinet and what they have been quoted as saying:
Kash Patel: "Hit a cop, you're going to jail
doesn't matter where you came from, how you got here, or what movement speaks to you. If the local police force won't back our men and women on the thin blue line, we @FBI will." ..."be investigating and pursuing all available leads for assault on a federal officer." The administration's top law enforcement officials are also warning against aggression toward law enforcement. "Hit a cop, you're going to jail
doesn't matter where you came from, how you got here, or what movement speaks to you," FBI Director Kash Patel wrote. "If the local police force won't back our men and women on the thin blue line, we @FBI will."
Dan Bongino had the audacity to state that perpetrators against the ICE by "investigating and pursuing all available leads for assault on a federal officer. We will not forget. Even after you try to."
What's the difference between the protests in Los Angeles and the Capitol riot on Jan. 6? Well, the former consists of people protesting Trump's agenda, and the latter was an attempted coup carried out in Trump's name. The Jan. 6 rioters, including those who assaulted cops, have been recast in MAGA history not as criminals, but as martyrs to the cause.
It's not about protecting cops. It's about protecting Trump.
She forgot to mention that four Trump supporters died at the scene of the coup. Although none of the assaulted police officers were killed at the scene, five died shortly thereafter, one by stroke and four by suicide.
Trump is responsible for the deaths of these five police officers due to the Jan 6th violent insurrection. Four of them committed suicide days after they were beaten and swore at. Upper left is Brian Sicknick who died Jan 7th he had two strokes, he was pepper sprayed in his face and beaten badly.

Five officers died, 174 more officers were hurt during the January 6th, 2021 insurrection. Yet, POTUS pardons 1,400 criminals who participated that day & are now free.

(4,824 posts)Everyone realizes feckless trump has no loyalties to duty, honor, or nation, and uses the scripted lines when convenient, and acts against those same lines just as easily when convenient.
Their Law & Order, Family Values, and Fiscal Responsibility bumper stickers are just that- bumper stickers without conviction, and not worth the adhesive they're printed on.
