Greta Thunberg after landing in Paris

🇵🇸 Greta Thunberg after landing in Paris:
We were kidnapped by Israel in international waters. There is a genocide going on in Gaza and a systematic starvation following a blockade.

There are no words to describe the betrayal that is happening every day by our own governments.

op in Paris? That must take remarkable reach. Unlike Gaza, Israel can’t ban the press from France. They can’t them there either.

As for Thunberg speaking out against genocide, that doesn’t take any particular expertise. It only requires a sense of humanity and a conscience.

Many people don't seem to be aware that Israel has been blockading Gaza for many years. And that this isn't the first time that Israel has bombed the fuck out of Gaza. It happened back around 2014.

As for Greta putting her life on the line now, yes she did. Israel has no qualms about violating international law, and has killed many foreigners in the past. This time the optics of killing people bringing a bit of humanitarian aid might have been too much. I'm glad she's safe, and the attacks on her in this thread are pretty sick.

If Greta Thunberg or anyone else opposing Israel's blockade of Gaza is siding with Hamas that is wrong and should be condemned. That said, the human rights abuses that Bibi Netanyahu is committing against the Palestinian people in Gaza is also wrong and must be condemned. I've traveled to Israel and saw first-hand that a large segment of the Israeli population do not support Bibi Netanyahu and support his prosecution for felony crimes.

I am Lutheran and attended a Passover Sedar earlier this year that was hosted by our church and led by the rabbi of the Reform Jewish Synagogue in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The rabbi did not mince words when he said, and I quote, "I support and love Israel, but I hate Bibi Netanyahu."

88. Let's talk about yr definition of genocide...
Wed Jun 11, 2025, 06:15 AM
Jun 2025

It'll be a one-sided conversation, as I know you can't reply, but I'm more than happy for any of those who gave a rec to yr post to step in.

Tens of thousands of innocent Palestinians being slaughtered by Israel, as well as the clearly genocidal language of the extremists in the Israeli govt, isn't genocide according to you. Yet somehow you can describe the killing of around 1000 people (a mix of Israelis and foreigners) in a single incident as genocide. How does that work? Genocide is a powerful term and there's criteria that must be met. It shits me that some Americans fling it around to score political points. And that imo is what you've fallen victim to. There's absolutely no way you can claim Oct 7 is an act of genocide while in the next breath insist that what's being done to the Palestinian people isn't.

Heres some info on genocide that you and those who recced yr post need to read.

https://www.theholocaustexplained.org/what-was-the-holocaust/what-was-genocide/eight-stages-of-genocide/

I think Israel's conduct is veering close to being genocidal, but right now I think what Israel is committing is ethnic cleansing. It's not like ethnic cleansing didn't happen during the Nakba, and you just have to look at the ongoing dispossession of Palestinians in the West Bank to see it happening in slow motion.

I honestly don't understand why those on the left in the US will excuse abuse and dispossession of any ethnic group when it goes against all leftists stand for. That shit is what the Right thrives on, which is why Trump and his ilk support Israel. I'm so glad my country is finally standing up and putting sanctions on the extremists in the Israeli govt. Of course the Trump administration are having a whinge about it, but our LW govt hopefully doesn't give a shit what those fascist fucks say.

91. I can't think of anyone on the left who supports Netanyahu or the Isreale right wing
Wed Jun 11, 2025, 06:50 AM
Jun 2025

I can only speak for myself, but when I see rhetoric that seems to be against all Israelis and does not recognize the historic fact that since its inception, there was a marked effort by Palestinians and other neighboring Arab countries to eradicate Israel.

I don't see acknowledgement of the displacement of Jews from Arab countries:

Following the establishment of Israel in 1948, over 850,000 Jews were displaced from Arab countries. This forced migration also included a further 70,000 Jews from Iran. The expulsion and migration from Arab countries was primarily driven by the Arab-Israeli war of 1948 and the ensuing political climate.

Now I'm not using that as an excuse for Netanyahu's actions, but it would help if the fact of Jewish displacement and the desire of Arab countries (including Palestinians) to eradicate Israel -and in the case of the Hamas charter, to kill all Jews.

A bit of acknowledgement would go a long way.
It was telling the Greta and her cohorts refused to watch the filming (by Palestinians) of the atrocities of October 7th. Again, it would also have helped for Hamas to release all hostages a long time before so many are now dead and cities decimated. That would have prevent the mass destruction Netnyahu is visiting on Gaza. No, I am not excusing that.

17. IMO, because we operate on assumptions that are false...
Tue Jun 10, 2025, 11:45 AM
Jun 2025

that the universe, people, every single thing is a machine that
can be treated separately and divided into parts.

People didn't always think this way, but it's become more and
more prevalent since Descartes fell in love with the hydraulic
statue on his estate and came up with the idea of the "beast
machine."

He started a debate, mostly through letter-writing, with all
the prominent philosophers, theologians, and scientists
across Europe. Newton took this on too.

Then the Industrial Revoution sealed it. People became
numbers and parts in both making machines and forming
the world thought of in those terms.

We think this way to this day, and it tends to make all of us
think and act fascistically, top-down. Our whole education
and work-system works that way. It's oppressive by nature
and divides us from each other.

However, if you think of the universe as a hologram, and the
brain as the means to project it, well, assumptions change.

This all came out of quantum physics, and answers so many
questions it's unreal. David Bohm and David Peat were
prominent in promoting this theory. Their books are great!

Then Michael Talbot wrote a book called The Holographic
Universe, which is a great synopsis and highly recommended.

Most of the world, apart from Western medicine, believes in a unifying life energy that is the source of health. And since we're all connected to that source, we're all in this together, not Us vs. Them. Hopefully, holistic energy-based medicine can continue to grow, and to help replace this outmoded mechanistic POV.

Tue Jun 10, 2025, 03:41 PM
Jun 2025

One example: a smoldering appendix.

Way back, when I first thought I had appendicitis (which it turns out I did),
I went to the doctor and described the symptoms.

He said no, it was IBS and prescribed some white pills and it went away.

35 or 40 years later, I had stomach issues. A CT scan showed a smoldering
appendix and I had it removed.

This is how the holographic brain works. Many cancer patients who don't
think they are going to die, don't. And many who do think it, do die.

It also explains my clairvoyance and ESP experiences, and many others.

And it explains how the world works, and how not treating the world and
others holistically, would lead to exactly this -- chaos, mental disturbance,
and destruction.

People saying she is a nut job or saying she is doing it for fame. It's pretty much how Maga talks about popular Dems/leftists

That Gaza is systematically being starved and genocide is happening in Real Time on TV for the world to see. Reality tv is now our modus operandi. She was trying to deliver aid. I would do the same if I could. Israel is way over board and needs to stop.

A man accused of being “a Hamas operative” based in London is a key figure behind Greta Thunberg’s Gaza-bound aid boat, it emerged on Monday.

Zaher Birawi, who was described in Parliament as a person with links to Hamas, called himself a “founding member” of the Freedom Flotilla International Coalition, which arranged the voyage by the aid boat Madleen.

That is an existential threat to all of humanity, and Greta seems to have just put it on the back burner.

53. What's going on in Gaza is very, very much a climate crisis issue.

From an article more than a year old: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/jan/09/emissions-gaza-israel-hamas-war-climate-change

The planet-warming emissions generated during the first two months of the war in Gaza were greater than the annual carbon footprint of more than 20 of the world’s most climate-vulnerable nations, new research reveals.

The vast majority (over 99%) of the 281,000 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2 equivalent) estimated to have been generated in the first 60 days following the 7 October Hamas attack can be attributed to Israel’s aerial bombardment and ground invasion of Gaza, according to a first-of-its-kind analysis by researchers in the UK and US.

According to the study, which is based on only a handful of carbon-intensive activities and is therefore probably a significant underestimate, the climate cost of the first 60 days of Israel’s military response was equivalent to burning at least 150,000 tonnes of coal.

The analysis, which is yet to be peer reviewed, includes CO2 from aircraft missions, tanks and fuel from other vehicles, as well as emissions generated by making and exploding the bombs, artillery and rockets. It does not include other planet-warming gases such as methane. Almost half the total CO2 emissions were down to US cargo planes flying military supplies to Israel.

Millions of toddlers and little kids with no arms and legs, having amputations without anesthesia and then dying anyway because they are so malnourished. You think it’s fine for American kids to see this on their phones everyday and not be distraught. How many Gaza dads carrying dead kids often missing their heads is good for our youth to see? Should be NONE!

There was no justification for Hamas' war crimes on Oct. 7, and no justification for Hamas continuing the war Hamas started. NONE!

Are inconsequential. Why pay attention to human life?

We are watching the full scale eradication of an entire people, and some make excuses for a horror of historical dimension. It sickens me.

Hamas could end the bloodshed today if they would stop fighting the war they started, surrender, and return the hostages/bodies.

Netanyahu’s own statements make clear his goal is to clear Gaza of all Palestinians. He violates cease fire agreements because the last thing he wants is peace. His war is not against Hamas. His goal is to exterminate 2 million Palestinians and take their land for Israel. He’s systematically destroyed every hospital and targeted aid groups to ensure his genocide succeeds.

Hamas placed their military headquarters under hospitals. Hamas infiltrated aid groups and stole aid from Gazans. Hamas is starving its own people. Many Gazans want Hamas gone, but Hamas won't leave. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/gaza-protests-hamas-war-israel-ceasefire-trump-rcna198315

Hamas is fine with their fellow Gazans becoming "martyrs," even if Hamas is left ruling over nothing but a pile of rocks, so long as their genocidal dream of wiping Israelis off the face of the earth, "from the river to the sea," remains intact.

Gazans and Israelis want Hamas gone. By ignoring Hamas' responsibility for Gazans' misery, we are not doing Gazans any favors.

Shows that he supports Israel quite a bit. If the member of Parliament had any proof then he would have given it since Zaher lives in Great Brittan, yet he did not and Zaher is still a free person. If Israel had any proof for that claim then why would they not share it with one of their allies? Ergo they do not and are just smearing him.
