As tiny as his ham fists are, the elected Rapist-in-Chief was already rendered incapable of handling delicate matters with required care. His equally tiny ham brain would have disqualified him from being within a 5-mile radius of a Mensa get-together. And now, that brain that was already addled to begin with is diminishing further with age. The result is that our country is spiraling into chaos.
He began the process of gutting the government of important personnel without knowing what any of those fired workers do. It's leaving Americans with fewer services with no real savings to show. This is a clear indicator of his diminished state of mind.
He is having people deported based on ethnic background, regardless of legal status. This is a clear indicator of his diminished state of mind.
He illegally deploys the military where people are protesting against his ham-fisted deportations of citizens and non-citizens alike. This is a clear indicator of his diminished state of mind.
He's angered the business community (much of which supported him) with random and senseless tariffs and tariff threats that his own cabinet members can't explain ("We can not BUILD bananas in America" ). This is a clear indicator of his diminished state of mind.
After running on inflation relief, inflation continues five months into his term. He seems to have no recollection of his promise to address it.
This is a clear indicator of his diminished state of mind.
His environmental policy is simply to create more pollution and hasten global warming because that's the way we used to do it. This is a clear indicator of his diminished state of mind.
He has seemingly forgotten his desire to end Russia's war on Ukraine. This is a clear indicator of his diminished state of mind.
He chooses his appointments because he's seen them on TV. This is a clear indicator of his diminished state of mind.
And so on. This person is accelerating the republican destruction of America by leaning into his mental deficits. When he needed to be put into a home, Americans put him in the home where he could cause the most damage and here we are.

(13,210 posts)As this worsens we have a mindless angry menace who wants to feel feared and powerful. He has surrounded himself with idiots--none of whom are qualified, and has compromised Republicans in Congress either through intimidation or bribes. Interestingly, he has not had much luck doing so with Democrats. This is another example of how both-sidesism is BS.
I also believe that though he acts like a mafia boss, the real mafia wouldn't allow him as their Don. He is too unstable, unpredictable, untrustworthy, "easily baited with a tweet" (HC), and completely selfish. His only code of honor is to himself.

(34,385 posts)still nothing that the GOP hasn't been working towards for decades. Donald is a con, playing a part, and apparently doing a fine job at that. It's all sewn up tight, and Donald obviously has nothing to do with the depth and breadth of that. Redistribution of Wealth, Abolishing Oversight, getting rid of all Agencies Non-Military, wiped clean off the face of the earth. Sell off all the land that housed such agencies. The country I thought I knew has put the closed sign on the door.

(4,935 posts)Sorry, but I think it's a mistake to pretend that this is all about Trump and not a sustained 45 year long campaign by the right to demonize the left, to degrade American education and civic values, to shift all the benefits of society to the rich and all the costs to the poor, and to undermine democracy and the rule of law.
Trump is just the idiot waving a flag at the top of Shit Mountain but it was built for him by decades of deliberate acts by malicious actors and by a gigantic propaganda machine that never faces any accountability.
Long after he is dead, we will still be facing the same problem unless we address the spread of misinformation, stoking of hate and tolerance of corruption in our politics, and can agree as a country that we want to be good people who value empathy, tolerance, kindness, helping others, being a good neighbour, minding our own business, standing up for those less fortunate than us, etc.

As bad as things were under republicans previously, it was certainly never like this.
