Yup, I'm already signed up. I'm considering making a sign that says: Childless Cat Mom Against Tyranny.

(2,945 posts)One is 1.5 miles down the hill, the other two are only three miles away.
They are staggering their times so one can show up at one, two or all three of these particular demonstrations. We'll do the one down the hill at what has been called "Democracy Corner" since the Bush days when there were the 'duelling truth squads' on either side of the street, depending on one's political orientation, which would assemble weekly (for years) and yell.
We're loud and active around here lol.
My sign is basically "No More Bullshit".

(4,084 posts)but I think there may be access issues. I'd have to drive there myself, but then I'd have to walk some distance to get to the actual event. I don't know if my back will survive. I'll call around to see if I can get a ride - someone to drop me off and pick me up.
I wish I had gotten involved earlier so I could try to organize a shuttle system to get people from my town to the event. Maybe I'll contact the town's Democratic Committee to see if they have set anything up, even though I'm on their contact list I have not heard anything about participating from them.
I'm quite torn!
ETA: I checked the Dem Committee website and their Facebook page - NOT A THING ABOUT NO KINGS!
As a former Chair, this makes me furious.

I'll be driving 20 minutes to my daughter's place and riding another 20 minutes to the protest nearest her. I'm really excited to be doing this together with her! The menfolk (her fiance and my hubby/her dad) will be otherwise occupied, so it'll be just us "girls." 👧👩
