He was supposed to be in prison. He was supposed to be in Federal prison.

How would remanding him to custody after his conviction on 37 felony counts prior to sentencing have been worse than what's happening right now?

Shit. I can't even anymore.

I'm going to get drunk and dream that I'm not living in this shitty country anymore...

He’s gone and bombed Iran.

The judge who presided over Trump’s conviction on 37 felony counts clearly said to himself: “Let’s let him walk around free while we drag our feet on sentencing him. What’s the worst that could happen?”

Well, we have the answer to that staggeringly näive question.

Our country has gone down the toilet in a matter of months. Two hundred fifty years of democracy ruined, and no one is doing a goddamn thing to stop him.

I wish I could get hammered, but all I have in the house is wine. I won't make that mistake again.

even further back. If we'd put more of a butthurt on the south after the civil war and held government officials to a higher standard, we'd be a different country.
I think about the movie Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. The problem was well known back then and nothing was done. Now it is institutionalized and entrenched so much that we have thugs willing to kill to protect it.

I remember that vividly! It was really shocking at the time.

But I forgave him for it after he saved the ACA by showing up to vote against the repeal when he was recovering from brain surgery.

Much as I did not want him to be potus, I wish at least a few of the Republicans in the Senate now were more like him; i.e., able to think for themselves and in possession of a functioning spine!

I suspect that something fishy went on behind the scenes with her choice, but I've never heard a clear description of how the choice was made (and whether it was witnessed to be truly random).

Why was Jack smith so handcuffed when dealing with her? She was making rulings about the case on portions of the case she had no jurisdiction over ! If we were so worried about following every rule to the letter How the hell was she allowed to get so far out of her lane ?

No boldness or willingness to take the risks required. Now we have to suffer the consequences of Merrick Garland's dithering and incompetence, and the lack of fortitude among Democrats who had the power to take him down and pack that damn supreme court at the same time.
