Embassy personnel hostage in 1979, they’ve never knocked down any of our buildings or anything. I think it’s this point “death to America” is more or less a figure of speech

cost Jimmy Carter his re-election, got D-lister Reagan elected, which ushered in and began the dismantling of so much of what we had accomplished through government. Just what the Republicans had long hoped for and here we are. Ruled by an ignorant, incompetent, and corrupt tyrant.
