Iran Gave Advance Notice Of Attack: NYT
Iran telegraphed their attack on a U.S. military base in Qatar ahead of time, three Iranian officials told the New York Times, portraying the strike as a means to both project strength and also provide an off-ramp for all involved.
The reporting aligns with a statement issued by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which noted the base had been evacuated ahead of the strike. As a result, no injuries have been reported.
Qatar closed its statement with a call for the immediate cessation of all military actions and for a serious return to the negotiating table and dialogue.

(1,946 posts)My guess: Somebody on the Trump team leaked the raid so badly that Iran moved their nuclear material and evacuated personnel. The leak was so blatantly lame that they have misinterpreted it as a diplomatic move. So theyve reciprocated with a heads up of their own
Its Trump World so its frighteningly possible of course Trumps own statements were enough to ruin the raid so theres that. Incompetence rules the roost in Trump World.

(2,561 posts)Satellite photos of an Iranian strike site show a line of trucks before the strike. Presumably, these trucks were there to remove what was inside the bunker. Trump would have had access to such information before the strike. Did he ignore it? Or was this the usual Trump intelligence incompetence?

(5,648 posts)It's pretty obvious that this was token US attack for token Iranian attack.

(8,930 posts)He sent out word today pointing out how Iran telegraphed the attack, thereby ruining Iran's attempt at saving face. We'll see if his stupid commentary spurs them to launch another attack. Hopefully not.
