This happened in the greater Omaha area.
Do Not Purchase anything from Culligan Water! Ever! A million dollar company just sued a disabled veteran over $200 worth of non payments for services they say they gave that were outside a contract agreement; after purchasing a system worth $4000 that was fully payed for. They hired a law firm and filled paperwork to sue a family over $200. I cannot believe that anyone would be willing to work with a predatory company like that. I would urge anyone currently doing business with them to stop and find another local business to support.

(451 posts)I've dealt with them in the past, and they're scammers.
They brought us a crappy reverse osmosis system that made the water taste like chlorine. I called to complain, but they never came out to fix the issue.
Finally, I told them to come and uninstall the thing, that we weren't going to pay for it anymore. They wouldn't show up for the appointments I made, to have it uninstalled.
So I took it out myself, and called their office one last time. I said that I had removed the offending system, and I would be leaving it out on the porch the next day. I also said that I would call the bank to make sure that Culligan couldn't charge my Visa card anymore. I told them that they should come out and pick the equipment up the next day, or else risk it being stolen by a porch pirate.
They finally got off their duffs, took the junk off my porch, and stopped charging me. But it took a hell of a fight.
So I'm not surprised at all by this horrific story. Culligan scams people.

(18,793 posts)That work really well and only cost a couple hundred bucks. I was pleasantly surprised that the replacement filters are pretty reasonable. The system might look complicated to install but they are pretty simple because all the tubing is color coded.
