Israel says Iran has violated ceasefire and vows retaliation

Israel warned of new missile fire from Iran and vowed to retaliate, just minutes after it announced it had agreed to a US-brokered ceasefire with Tehran.

The two countries had on Tuesday agreed to halt hostilities, heralding a possible end to almost two weeks of conflict between the regional rivals.

But minutes after Israel confirmed it had agreed to the truce, it said Iran had broken the agreement.

“I have instructed the IDF to respond forcefully to Iran’s violation of the ceasefire with powerful strikes against regime targets in the heart of Tehran,” said Israel’s defence minister Israel Katz.

However, Iranian state television then denied the country violated the ceasefire.

TSF made the announcement of a ceasefire, not Israel, and certainly not Iran.

So, if there truly wasn't a ceasefire, and Iran lobbed missiles at Israel b/c it didn't recognize there was/is a ceasefire, then TSF and Israel could claim a violation of the "ceasefire" that never existed. And use those missiles as an excuse to finish their mission to destroy suspected nuclear sites in Iran.
