Lawrence's opening 25-minute-long statement tonight was a masterpiece. I don't know if MSNBC posts video of past shows but everyone needs to watch for it.

He made a critical point that likely will have some deadly consequences. This is what he said:
-- The big beautiful bill adds $32 billion to the ICE budget, much of which is to hire more agents.
-- Police departments nationwide report they cannot find enough qualified candidates.
-- So, why should we assume ICE will find qualified candidates?

I guarantee you ICE will hire any piece of trash who has a pulse and can hold a weapon.

Corporate MSNBC demands you see their channel, and so they don't post either Lawrence or Rachel on YouTube for at least a day, and even then they don't post the full show. That MSNBC does that ticks me off to no end. They'll rerun him at 1am EST, two hours from now.

and contracting. We can't think of ICE goons the same way we do FBI agents or CIA officers. They are not, by and large, federal employees. They are employed by government contractors. The contracts may have qualification and security stipulations, but it can sometimes be fairly easy to skirt those or dance a fine line. They are mercenaries not civil servants. Check out Paragon and their hundreds of millions of dollars in security contracts with the US government.

I have or had a stutter that only shows up with I am very tired or sick. President Biden's stutter showed up early on but I agree with Lawrence that for the rest of the debate, President Biden beat the shit out of trump.
