I told doc that I wasn’t sure if I had the vaccine as kid. He recommended that I get one either way.

5. I recently got the shot. My ACA insurance covered it. For me, there was no reason not to get it.

6. There are two types of measles: current measles is rubeola (red measles); the other is rubella ("German measles" )

If you do not have good records that make it clear you had "regular" measles infection as a child (rubeola, i.e., "red" measles) then you have two options:

1. have a titer drawn to see what your antibody level is.
2. Get the MMR regardless (not harmful to do so).

If you really had rubeola (regular measles circulating now), then your immunity should be lifelong. But, if in doubt, go to #1 or #2.

Made an appointment, went to CVS. Quick, easy.

Just had first grandchild, and original vaccination was pre 1965 so wanted to be sure.

Said I wasn't immune and had the vaccine.

I'm 58 if that helps (probably 50-ish when this happened). Might be worth just getting the shot if it isn't a monetary problem.
