Revealed: Trump planning new military unit to rapidly crush civil unrest

The Trump administration is looking at plans to set up a 600-person National Guard “quick reaction force” to quickly deploy to U.S. cities to quell protests or other unrest, The Washington Post reported Tuesday.

Internal Pentagon documents reviewed by the Post lay out the parameters for a “Domestic Civil Disturbance Quick Reaction Force,” calling for hundreds of guard members outfitted with weapons and riot gear to be on constant standby and deployable in as little as one hour.

The proposal, if enacted, would be another expansion of President Trump’s use of U.S. troops on American soil. The commander in chief on Monday declared he was deploying 800 National Guard troops in Washington, D.C., to combat what he claimed was a scourge of violent crime and drug use, even as D.C. police data shows violent incidents in the city have fallen off sharply since 2023.

I think it's another manifestation of his dictator fantasy, like his failed, ridiculous military parade. There was an obvious lack of enthusiasm from the troops forced to participate; hopefully this stunt will be another big fail.

Is to take credit for "saving" DC after suddenly acknowledging that DC's crime rate is falling, which they'll give full credit to Trump bringing the troops instead of admitting that those crime stats were already happening beforehand. That's basically what they did in LA. It's a Fox News and administration talking point now that LA would have totally burned to the ground if not for Trump heroically sending the troops to save it.

TACO Don thinks himself RULER of America as he attempts to take over the US Military to use against the American people and the US Constitution.

Chief Justice John Roberts has to be quaking in his boots as to Trump's blatant disregard to the Rule of Law.

The old National Guard wouldn't have stood for bullshit like this, but since we relaxed the rules on federalization, they're in for the duration, which is forever.

right in Los Angeles -- or in other states -- to activate the NGuard. Those troops are under the Adjutant General in each state after conferring with the Governor about activation. Those are clear laws under Posse Comitatus.

Isn't there a legal case about this issue underway in LA?
