Dan Goldman Is Getting Eaten Alive On MSNBC

On Symone's show. I just posted a thread 2 hours ago about how Democrats are fighting fire with fire. Symone and her panel asked Goldman what is Democrats' plan to deal with the militarization of D.C.

His answers were weak tea. He said they would file a lawsuit, he said they will blame Congressional Magats.

It is time for Democrats to think outside the box, blaming Congressional Magats and blaming Krasnov and hoping that Congressional Magats come around is wishful thinking.

Symone was very frustrated with his response.

Maybe organizing a massive peaceful protest? Get together and brainstorm what to do, DC won't be the last place to be militarized.

I wish we'd hear more fire but figure that this is about overwhelming Democrats and distracting from Epstein.

I say: keep the focus on EPSTEIN.

Also, Symone is really hammering the DC thing cuz it's her town maybe but in the scheme of things.. EPSTEIN is a winning issue and let's not lose the focus.

Think outside the box.

Dems need to respond immediately to all the distractions while keeping Epstein on the front page.

If the Congressional plan is to let Krasnov break the law, giving illegal orders is breaking the law, and hope that the people protest then so be it, that is the Schumer plan.

Whenever I saw her speak in 2024 she was completely anti Trump, and also, post DNC, was pro nominee VP Harris, whom she used to work for.

edited to add (per another poster in post 20) that she apparently has not registered as an indie

We have Mango Mussolini doing military takeovers of cities. A literal effort to rewrite our nation's history. Him making actual billions of dollars in grift. All while the couch humper is going on vacations like it's his job as a travel influencer.

Instead of constantly complaining, people should tell us what this magic wand is that Democrats could wave and make everything better this very instant.

Spoiler alert: Campaign rallies in blue cities months after the election, viral tweets, protests, etc. -- none of that ultimately will do a damn thing either.

Sometimes, it seems they go on these shows and are surprised at the questions asked and do not have strong answers. That would be a starting point.

Maybe they need to compile some hefty donors and take out some ads or buy some air time where they can explain their platform to the American people. We have a shitload of wealthy entertainment industry Dems who give money. Perhaps they could be asked to give a small percentage more. I think most average income people are getting tapped out.

We need to go beyond MSNBC to reach people who are not Democratic voters.

hamsterjill

15. Is that a serious question?
Wed Aug 13, 2025, 07:53 PM

What is there NOT to explain?

I think the American people want to know what the Democrats are doing to counter Trump's takeover of this country. Is that not what should be explained? Should they explain what Trump's actions actually mean for the average person's rights and remedies? That Trump wants to be a freaking dictator or king? What his current agenda means for the average person?

Not everyone reads DU or watches MSNBC or listens to podcasts.

As a Congressman and an excellent lawyer, I would think he would be more useful using his skills and position to negotiate a way out of this.

There has been some commentary that the cool, measured response of DCs government and the lack of large protests, that would be filmed, edited and used to PROVE DC is violent, has been a smart response.

Ignoring that, she is part of the media and they should be doing more to make the case that DC crime has been lied about and is coming down. Even their cause celebre, the Doge guy, actually showed that DC's police were there to arrest some of the attackers. Not to mention, his injuries were such that he did not go to the hospital. (It was a nasty event, but doesn't reach to the level of a large, violent mob attacking the Capital.)

I am ok with Symone, but she always acts frustrated and basically her hair is always on fire. I'm not downplaying how much trouble our country is in right now, but just because someone isn't talking a mile a minute at 100 decibels, doesn't mean they are "weak tea".

That’s what used to drive me nuts about Joy. She had important things to say but her delivery used to wind me up so severely I just couldn’t listen/watch her show. Nicole Wallace’s cadence is more my style.

A very good one. That is what he should be doing.
The courts are our best shot to end this everywhere without anyone getting hurt or giving Trump more excuses for martial law.

i understand the problem with that, so we should also be organizing but it needs to be a plan with a long view.
I'll be seeing what Indivisible is up to because they are consulting experts, training people, and making a cohesive plan.

Blaming Dan Goldman for not doing everything isn't going to help. He's doing his part.

I'm tired of Democrats having lower approval ratings than Republicans. Yes, we are frustrated but there isn't an obvious solution. Not everything Dems are doing is getting press. Republicans who could stop this are afraid of Trump's wrath while Democrats are putting themselves on the line. We need to recognize courage.

President Clinton is right. He said that until 2026 we MUST take them to court constantly. That is what some Dems are doing so GOOD for them.

?si=jBLa2-WCsAYFB0ij

Others are protesting all over the US in large and small groups and Malcolm Nance said this is another great way to stop MAGA. Nance spoke about the resisters who are protesting across the US fighting back tRump and his agenda and this is exactly what we must continue to do. We can not rely on politicians. We must stand up and fight back but not just in mega rallies like NO KINGS, it must happen consistently. Flash mob protests are working!!!!

For the voters to now want the Politicians to fix this... they can't... They have no power to bring up bills, no power to stop any of this... It's on us, people...

So, stop it with the circle firing squad.... We must raise our voices to the people that doing all of this... Republicans!... We must protest in the streets... We must make sure our elections are on the up and up with hand recounts if the are not!!!...

Rep. Dan Goldman: Republicans are rolling over democracy and allowing Trump to act as a 'fascist dictator'

After being denied entry to a Brooklyn facility, Rep. Dan Goldman (D-N.Y.) sends a direct message to border czar Tom Homan from The Weeknight table about detention center access. He also weighs in on Trump’s power play in Washington, D.C., as the president deploys National Guard and pledges a crime crackdown.
