FULL story: http://archive.today/G7blg
Rural communities are the heart and soul of Nebraska. Their health care needs are unique and require tailored solutions. The One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) puts rural patients front and center. It brings care, stability, and reform where its needed most. We are providing for rural hospitals so they can continue providing for the Good Life.
Rural hospitals are lifelines for families across Nebraska. They face challenges that urban hospitals dont. However, our rural hospitals have found ways to adjust and serve their communities.
To support this mission, the One Big Beautiful Bill establishes a $50 billion Rural Healthcare Fund to be distributed over the next five years. Half of the fund is equally split across all 50 states. Thats $100 million guaranteed annually for Nebraska.
The state will be responsible for distributing these funds to rural hospitals. The remaining funds will be distributed by the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Rural hospitals will apply to CMS for the grants, which will distribute them based on admission rates, Medicaid share, or will support telehealth, new technology, and data management upgrades.

(8,795 posts)The fund was created by Republicans to cover their butts because THEY KNEW their shitty bill would hammer the unwashed who vote for them

You see the problem here, Petey?
If equal, Nebraska gets $50 per citizen, while California, a state that is TWENTY times larger than Nebraska, would get $2.50 per citizen.
If it was equal to all citizens regardless of state, Nebraska would get $588,000 of that yearly $100M, and California would get $11,600,000.
But REPUBLICANS knew that, and that is why it is per state!
By the way, Petey
.what happens when the 10 years is up on your CYA legislation?
* Delaware really benefits, getting $95 per citizen, almost twice that of Nebraska, and 38 times that of California.
** Id love to see the comments from the readers in Nebraska, but its behind a paywall. Have you seen any?
