Under Texas Redistricting Latino equals 1/3 of a person and African Americans equal 1/5

TX Rep. Perez (D) did the math.

Perez vowed to continue the fight against the GOP-led efforts to redraw the congressional map, adding that the proposed map would result in 26 out of 38 seats being decided by white majority residents, despite Texas Hispanics and white residents each making up 40 percent of the state's population.

"That means that white residents are getting three times the representation as Latinos," Perez said.

Perez urged the people of El Paso and Texans to stay informed about the map's implications, warning that it could become "the civil rights struggle of our time." El Paso state rep vows to fight Texas redistricting map in court over segregation concerns https://share.google/45lfcMm44JoS69qtK
