CNN senior legal analyst Elie Honig expressed serious skepticism over claims made by Ghislaine Maxwell in the just-released transcripts of her interview with the Department of Justice.
Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for helping disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein sexually abuse underage girls, is seeking a pardon from President Donald Trump and sang his praises in her interview with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche last month.
Asked Friday on CNNs The Lead whether he found Maxwells account credible, Honig responded, Oh my gosh, no, before explaining what he found odd about her take.
In this transcript, Ghislaine Maxwell provides a simply bizarre worldview wherein almost nobody did anything wrong, Honig said. She doesnt even actually implicate Jeffrey Epstein.

(1,616 posts)Of course, she didn't have the gumption to get on the stand and say that at her own trial But that is what she's always maintained, so it's hardly what I'd call 'bizarre' (for her, I mean) in this particular context. And obviously she's going to buff Trump's knob in this particular interview, say exactly what she thinks will please him. He is the only one with control over her fate. And guess what? It paid off, in spades.

(2,944 posts)"Epstein" as she refers to him, is the oddest and most important part. If he did nothing wrong, then no one did.
Isnt it odd that she doesnt refer to him as Jeff or Jeffrey?
