Must have some ulterior motive.

(6,350 posts)the Misses offered an interesting premise: something having to do with her having been scorned by Trump. After all she'd been one of Trump's most vocal cheerleaders (both male and female) yet Trump rewarded everyone from Fux news "journalists" (and I use that word with all mockery) to an assortment of other near nobodies. But not her.
So my best half might have a point. MTG is pssed.

(20,145 posts)I am 100%, immovably CONVINCED that Trump wanted NOEM for his VP.
She reached that point in Donny's fevered little brain where she found the "EGO CENTER" and stroked it (her "gift" of a 4 foot "replica" of Mt Rushmore with his face on it).
The Story Behind Gov. Kristi Noems Weird Gift to Donald Trump
And then, "THE CRICKET STORY," and I believe he just didn't want the baggage that went with it. So he christened her "ICE BARBIE," which means she got a reward for her fealty.
ELISE STEFANIK: In terms of Trump's litmus test for "being pretty-slash-HOT," and having an ideal weight, um...no. Fealty? 100%. Is Stefanik as annoying as Jan Brady on The Brady Bunch? Yes, even more so. No MAGA soup for you, Elise.
KARI LAKE: The MILITANT MAGAt Bunny. Despised by many in her own state, and she committed the cardinal sin in Trump's mind...she lost an election. So he gave her a title to get her out of thee way.
MTG has the same level of fealty and has essentially received no reward from Dear Leader Kim Jong Don. So, she's trying to position herself for rewards after the fall of the empire.

(17,437 posts)Its honestly the only thing that explains this from her because I actually think she is sincere about this. Even though she may have focused on this originally as being only the Dems committing and she needed to bring the Dem pedophile cabal down ala Q-Anon conspiracy theories - she now is determined to bring anyone down that has been part of this.

(10,335 posts)The polls now show the majority of Young Republicans are against sending more weapons to Gaza. Not as high as young Dems but climbing. I think its around 55% now.
I dont know what her inspiration is but supposedly shes really getting to Trump.
A little group of Republicans against Trumps Gaza policy is forming - MTG, Tucker, Candice, Massie, Bannon and growing.

These people are driven by hatred of Jews. MRG has said crazy things about Jewish people before. She once said that "Jewish space lasers" caused wildfires in California.

(458 posts)Im simply asking for how that and other actions are muddying the waters and whatever else it is you said. Seems like it would be easy to show, but I suppose not.
But maybe the really important angle is this:
Why do you think Rep. Ro Khanna doesnt see what youre seeing? How is she fooling him? Have you alerted his office? Hes one of the leaders of this effort and hes letting her get away with whatever it is youre alleging. Maybe tip him off!
Hugin
(36,855 posts)She's no different than Trump.
A half-dozen threads on GD. Now it's my turn to ask a question, how many people here can name a half-dozen of Trump's victims? That's mudding the waters.
Get back to me when Greene doesn't actively participate in an armed insurrection on behalf of a tyrant.

(12,940 posts)Heres a detailed look at former Representative **Adam Kinzingers voting record**, drawn from multiple sources that track congressional activity:
### 🗳️ Key Votes & Positions
According to [Vote Smart](https://justfacts.votesmart.org/candidate/key-votes/116559/adam-kinzinger), Kinzingers votes reflect a mix of bipartisan support and traditional Republican stances:
- ✅ **Supported**:
- *Right to Contraception Act (H.R. 8373)* Protecting access to contraceptives
- *Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023* Funding government operations
- *Veteran Service Recognition Act of 2022* Supporting veterans
- ❌ **Opposed or Did Not Vote**:
- *Puerto Rico Status Act* Did not support changes to Puerto Ricos status
- *Respect for Marriage Act* Did not vote on this LGBTQ+ rights bill
- *Law Enforcement De-Escalation Training Act* Missed vote
### 📊 Voting Trends & Ideology
From [Politics That Work](http://politicsthatwork.com/voting-record/Adam-Kinzinger-412421), his record shows:
| **Policy Area** | **Support Level** |
|------------------------------------|-------------------|
| Big Business | 100% |
| Military Spending | 100% |
| LGBT Rights | 27.6% |
| Women's Rights | 13.7% |
| Environmental Protection | 6.6% |
| Consumer Protection | 0% |
| Gun Control | 0% |
| Taxing the Wealthy | 0% |
This suggests a strong alignment with pro-business and defense policies, while showing limited support for progressive social and economic reforms.
### 📉 Legislative Effectiveness
On [GovTrack](https://www.govtrack.us/congress/members/adam_kinzinger/412421/report-card/2020), during the 116th Congress:
- He missed **7% of votes**, ranking high in absenteeism.
- His bills had **few cosponsors**, indicating lower legislative influence.
- He scored low on leadership metrics compared to other Illinois representatives.
If you want a breakdown by issuelike healthcare, immigration, or civil rightsI can pull that up too. Just say the word.

(2,648 posts)He was on the Jan 6 committee. He recognized and actively fought against the extremist takeover of the GOP. A breakdown by issue would show he didn't walk in lockstep, so to not take the wins where we could get them is making the perfect the enemy of the good.

(74,263 posts)...he's a pretty nice guy. He was our representative and I talked with him a few times.

(23,458 posts)We need a decent Republican down here, that's for sure. I for one would greatly enjoy seeing him knock off one of our many MAGA politicians. He is not running for anything this cycle though.
ProfessorGAC
(74,263 posts)Might even been 4.
He lost his seat here due to redistricting. Once they redraw the lines, he had no chance to win, and his anti-Trump stance meant farther west or south was a non-starter.
District was already purple, and the redraw turned it hard blue.
He worked for CNN for a while. Don't know if he still does.

(15,261 posts)Their bullshit is so strong and diverse they suck a lot of otherwise decent people in.
Best way I can say it is Kinzinger appears to have a soul, and it kicked in at some point.
While it appears that this issue has some very small windwo into her soul, I don't otherwise see any redeeming qualities in her and she has a LONG ways to go before I would reach a point where I thought she could come over the light fully.

(9,105 posts)The FBI was informed and the GOP wasn't running the DOJ then. This has been kept at the back of the shelf for several administrations.
The investigation and prosecution of this appears to have been purposefully lax since about the full flowering of the internet era.

(3,632 posts)Who blew the whistle? Who informed the FBI? What was said about Epstein? What evidence was presented when and to whom?
The FBI was informed about Beer Boofer Kavanaugh, by a doctor, under oath, in 2018 and after a week their pretend investigation was over and guess where he is now.
1996 was almost thirty years ago. Before Me Too, before Cosby, before Weinstein.
Spurious accusations against Democrats don't work for me.
misanthrope
(9,105 posts)Is that what you are insisting?
What works for you has no sway on historical data. The FBI was first approached about Epsteins predations in 1996. It went nowhere in deference to Epsteins influence. The survivors stories are clear.

(16,448 posts)I don't believe her. If she actually does something to help our cause, then so be it. But I'm not going to be fooled by this person. She's shown her true colors too many times.
We need to take what we can get from her, but we don't need to EVER forget who and what she is, and what she has said and done in the past.
Democrats are typically good people. We want to allow people redemption. But we get into trouble with Republicans when we don't remember who and what they are. So, let's not make that mistake with MTG.

She is certainly a rabid opportunist, she is an adulterer, and she has already lied how she would vote ( having voted for Medicaid cuts and voted against releasing the Epstein files just a few weeks ago ). I think she's trying to churn up support for the mid terms, possibly a presidential run as well.
