The 30-day limit for troops in D.C. ends tomorrow, but they're not leaving.

They'll be there through December.

Any extensions are supposed to be approved by Congress.

Trump had to notify the leaders of congressional committees overseeing DC in order for him to keep control of the police for 30 days. A longer extension would require authorization by lawmakers.

Congress has explicitly said they will not be voting on an extension because the DC mayor "asked them to be there."

"Mayor Bowser said she has not been consulted on any possible extension."

Another rule of law bites the dust. Another Congressional power is given to the Executive branch. Uninvited American troops have invaded an American city.
