Where is the messaging war being fought ?

We are all horrified at Fox News or OAN blatant propaganda and lies but is it still where it matters ?

Looking up the numbers, prime time fox reaches roughly 2.5 millions, OAN is just a couple hundred thousands.

It pales in comparison with the viewership of some YouTube channels or other similar social media.

Brian Tyler Cohen for example has around 4.8 millions subscribers. His total number of views accross all videos is 4.3 billions ( yes, billions not millions).

Given that nearly half of all us households are cord cutters ( https://www.parksassociates.com/blogs/in-the-news/parks-associates-46-of-us-internet-households-are-cord-cutters-12-cord-nevers)

and likely dont stream network TV, maybe we should aggressively focus on podcasts, YouTube channels and the likes to get our message out rather than the traditional Sunday opinion shows as it used to be the case.

The right wingers have understood this and already planted their stake in the social media via podcasts ( Rogan, etc..).

During the last presidential election Kamala Harris made an attempt but it was , in my opinion feeble and not targeted correctly ( she went on call her daddy which just, from a branding perspective sounded off) .

Still I think the shifting of news and opinion shows from cable and network TV to the internet is an opportunity for leveling the field.

You don't need billions to conquer that media and that's where the younger people get their information.

I hope that for the sake of our democracy, we don't miss that boat. This is one main criterion I look for when supporting candidates in primaries. How is their media game, are they good at outreach and counter punching there or just have a cookie cutter website with their policies and nothing else?

What is your opinion on this ? Is there hope, are we cooked ?

The messaging is clear and consistent, and the excellent writers are all there.

Hassan Piker has a live show there. He is a left wing commentator highly critical of the Trump regime.
