More than 4,000 federal employees received layoff notices Friday as part of the Trump administrations broad effort to reshape the government while it remains shutdown, according to a court filing Friday.

Trump said late Friday afternoon that he plans to fire a lot of federal workers in retaliation for the government shutdown, vowing to target those deemed to be aligned with the Democratic Party.
We figure they started this thing, so they should be Democrat-oriented, Trump said, placing blame for the shutdown on Democratic lawmakers.
Trump did not provide details on what qualified the affected workers as Democrat-oriented.

(5,789 posts)member of a certain political party. Michael Steele admitted the other day that he's still a registered Repug, despite his anti-djt rhetoric on MSNBC.
And, yeah, my bank accounts are linked to my SS number, but my voter registration isn't. It only involved my birth and marriage certificates and proof of full-time residency via the property tax roll. My passport doesn't mention political party, either.
