Trump's 'growing inability to form thoughts' on full display during presser: journalist

Trump’s ‘growing inability to form thoughts’ on full display during presser: journalist

https://www.rawstory.com/trump-2674176259/

Trump proudly touted a new deal Friday his administration had reached with a British drugmaker to lower drug costs, and as high as “1,000%” in some cases, a claim that journalist Jason Easley ripped into Saturday as just the latest example of Trump’s “apparent growing inability to form thoughts.”

“Now, drug prices are gonna be going down a 100%, 400%, 600%, 1,000% in some cases, but for one eighth of a cent,” Trump said Friday during the announcement at the White House. “I was so proud because for 28 years nobody had done it.”

Writing on his left-leaning news website PoliticusUSA, Easley tore into Trump’s claims as being incompatible with “basic math.”
“It is impossible to lower the price of any good by more than 100%. It is basic math,” Easley wrote.

“Trump’s claim of reducing prices by 1,000% means that Americans will be getting paid by the drug companies ten times the value of the drug to take the medication. When put in those terms, the lunacy is apparent, but things were only starting to go off the rails.”

It seems to me that a 100% reduction would make the drug "free" and the remaining 900% or, 9 X the cost, would be the payout to the "buyer". Or am I looking at it wrong??

Anyway, the point is, he's definitely "nuckn' futs", one way or the other...

800% off a $1,000 drug:

$1,000 x -8.00 = -$8,000
$1,000 - $8,000 = -$7,000

Since the price paid for anything cannot be less than 100% of the price asked, if Trump is bringing the price of a medication down 1000% then the pharmacy not only gives you your drugs at no cost, they pay you nine times the original asking price to take them off their hands. It doesn’t seem like a very successful business model, but, then, how many of Trump’s business pre-presidency ventures were?

And/or words to that effect. I think it's worth watching - the coverage, the newspaper article headlines and references, the comments from well-positioned individuals in Washington DC who have real-time experience with all the newsmakers we're hearing about. Looks like some folks in the news decision-making and programming departments are starting to notice there's a difference here.

And don't forget - these are professional broadcasters who are trying to follow the highest standards they know of. When I was working, everybody I worked with, either network or local, radio or TV, was always mindful of BEHAVING like a professional, and turning in work that was of the highest professional quality. I can't remember anybody I worked with - having less than sterling principles of news coverage presented as objectively as possible. "Leave your personal politics at the door."

So now we get our Prescriptions for free plus we receive $1,000...
“Now, drug prices are gonna be going down a 100%, 400%, 600%.."
100% = $0
400% = $0 + you get $400.
600% = $0 + you get $600.

I don't do it all the time, but I do it often.

When I copy and paste paragraphs, if one begins with "President Trump" or "President Donald Trump," I begin my copy and paste with "Trump."

I don't remove it if it's in the middle of a paragraph, but most times, if it's at the beginning, all of the articles I post begin with "Trump."

I have never called him "President Trump." Not once. I always call him "Trump" or one of the more vulgar variations. He will never be "my" president. Never. I understand elections. I didn't like George W Bush, and I REALLY didn't like Dick Cheney, but when Bush was in office, I didn't challenge it. Didn't like it, but understood that America elected him. I will never understand not accept that America did that with Trump, AFTER his two impeachments, AFTER January 6, AFTER all of the other legal cases he escaped without a scratch. He will NEVER be more than "TRUMP" to me. NEVER.

So of course he exaggerates when it comes to percentages. It's just basic Trump math.
