With this in mind, Politico reported on an incident from late July in which Ingrassia arrived at a Florida hotel with a lower-ranking female colleague and others from their department. From the article:
.....Ingrassias attorney said no last-minute changes were made to the hotel reservations and his client never harassed any coworkers. Nevertheless, the incident resulted in an official investigation, and according to Politico, the fallout from the incident has been the talk of the upper echelons of DHS ever since.....
Whats more, as The New York Times reported, Ingrassia also hosted a podcast, called Right on Point, and in December 2020, as Trump tried to overturn the results of his election defeat, the podcast posted on Twitter that it was time for the outgoing Republican president to declare martial law and secure his re-election......
The Atlantic noted that Ingrassia has called Nikki Haley, Donald Trumps former United Nations ambassador who ran against him, in the Republican primary, an insufferable b---- who might be an anchor baby too.
MSNBCs Barbara McQuade also highlighted Ingrassias 9/11 conspiracy theories, adding, Picking Paul Ingrassia to lead the U.S. Office of Special Counsel is not like putting the fox in charge of the hen house. Its more like setting fire to the whole farm.
In July, NBC News reported that retiring Republican Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina announced his opposition to Ingrassias nomination, undermining his confirmation odds. His chances are likely even worse now.
When the group reached the front desk, the woman learned she didnt have a hotel room. Ingrassia then informed her that she would be staying with him, according to five administration officials familiar with the episode. Eventually the woman discovered that Ingrassia had arranged ahead of time to have her hotel room canceled so she would have to stay with him, three of those officials said.

The woman, a fellow Trump appointee, initially protested the room arrangement. But, not wanting to cause more of a scene around other colleagues, she relented, according to the officials. So the two, who knew each other previously as friends, went to the room and slept in separate beds. Ingrassias attorney said no last-minute changes were made to the hotel reservations.
Whats not disputed is that the two ended up sharing a room on the business trip, and that it resulted in an official investigation.
The fallout from the incident has been the talk of the upper echelons of DHS ever since. It adds to a swirl of controversy surrounding Ingrassia, a 30-year-old conservative lawyer and activist who is President Donald Trumps nominee to lead the Office of Special Counsel, which deals with federal employee whistleblower complaints and discrimination claims. Ingrassia would be two decades younger and less experienced than recent leaders of the agency.
Ingrassias nomination is already on the rocks after Republican senators raised concerns about his background and amount of experience, as well as possible antisemitism, which the administration has disputed.
