A library director in Wyoming who was fired two years ago because she refused to remove books with sexual content and LGBTQ themes from a library's children and young adult sections has just been awarded $700,000 in a settlement.

Yes, parents can and should monitor what their kids read, but most of these objections are nonsense.

I will add that I paid a lot of attention to what my kids read, and I do recall one of them telling me in 7th grade that he didn't think I'd approve of the book they were reading. Can't recall the specific book, but I read it and saw no problems.
