This is the second time I make this ask: Re: Soros equivalents on the Right.

Why won't the Democrats come up with a list of names that the Republican donors that rival Soro's contributions? You know they must have at least 50 who continually support the GOP and its unified intention to take over this country. Do you know the advantage that Republicans have because their constituents are able to come up with Soros as the incredible deep pocket boogeyman for the Dems? And we're here doing our best to match it up with names like Mellon and the likes?

So, does anyone have a link to a page that will show us the highest donors to the GOP? That's something I would like to lock into my mobile phone the next time I hear Soro's name.

But it doesn't work the same way.

The soros attack has a strong antisemitic element and we aren't big on those kinds of attacks. We're more into stats and and data than individual anecdotes anyway.

The real problem is that they have many billionaires on their side.

It will shut them up because they'll never admit in a debate that their is an anti-semitic link to their accusations.

Partly because they have done a hell of a lot more to deserve it - every one of them has their hand in the public till, whereas Soros never did - and partly to pound home the hypocrisy of how the right twists everything we do while they pillage our democracy.

I think his foundation still donates to various organizations, but it doesn't look like it gets that involved in the party.

https://www.usnews.com/news/elections/articles/2024-11-05/the-biggest-political-donors-of-the-2024-election

Top 10 to Democrats
Bloomberg, Michael R. $43,453,634
Moskovitz, Dustin & Cari $38,785,700
Eychaner, Fred $31,057,700
Simons, James H. & Marilyn $30,757,103
Hoffman, Reid Garrett $26,659,700
Mandel, Stephen F. Jr. & Susan Z. $22,934,500
Simon, Deborah J. $19,830,960
Jordan, Wayne D. $14,488,811
Larsen, Christian $13,442,479
Heising, Elizabeth D. $12,638,350

Top 10 to Republicans
Mellon, Timothy $172,042,500
Uihlein, Richard & Elizabeth A. $137,775,196
Adelson, Sheldon G. & Miriam O. $136,855,700
Musk, Elon $133,038,600
Griffin, Kenneth C. $101,405,484
Yass, Jeffrey S. & Janine $96,122,180
Singer, Paul E. $59,299,100
Schwarzman, Stephen A. $39,103,046
Dunn, Timothy M. $35,415,200
Bigelow, Rob $34,991,500

But note that while Musk as an individual is down for $133m for "Republicans", "SpaceX" (ie Musk's plaything) gave $276m to Trump: https://www.opensecrets.org/2024-presidential-race/donald-trump/contributors?id=N00023864

So only the top 2 Democratic donors would make it into the Republican top 10.

The thing about Soros isn't that he donates a lot; it's that the rabid Republicans use him as an antichrist, and that can drive social media, while actual facts about how much he or Republicans actually donate will be ignored.

It's pointless to reason with pigeons - they just make a mess and shit everywhere.

Energy better spent elsewhere (from my perspective).

But I'd never try to dissuade you from doing what you think or feel is the right thing.
